Praise

Praise is the expression of approval, commendation, or admiration usually of a deity, ruler or hero. In my mind and in my praise, Jehovah God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit are my God, my Lord, and my Hero. From the first moment that God opened my spiritual eyes and showed me the truth that He is real, that He loves me, hears my prayers, and most importantly that His Son Jesus died for me, I have loved to praise the Lord.
Many people think that the best time to praise the Lord is when we are at church on Sunday. Praising God together with our brothers and sisters in Christ is a very satisfying and faith building time. Singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs along with the many instruments of music blesses the Lord with praise. But we should be living a life that praises God all day, every day. Loving the things that God loves and hating the things that God hates praise’s the Lord.
Telling people our testimony of what great things God has done in our lives is praising the Lord. Jesus said in Matthew 5:16 that if we let our light shine that people will see our good deeds and give glory and praise to God. Praise is also a most powerful weapon against Satan and just as we put on our clothing daily we should put on a garment of praise daily. Satan does not like to listen to our praise to God and whenever he comes against you begin to praise and thank and give God the glory and the enemy will flee from you.
In times of praise in my prayer room and in church I have felt the presence of God in many different ways. I have felt His presence completely fill the room as if He was going right through me. I have smelled His presence like the aroma of a thousand beautiful wildflowers. I have heard Him speak into my spirit and envelope me in a sea of bright light. I am not ashamed to lift my hands, run, shout, or cry torrents of tears of joy in my praise. Isaiah 38:19-20 says; “the living, they shall thank and praise You, as I do this day; the father shall make known to the children Your faithfulness and Your truth. The Lord is ready to save me; therefore we will sing my songs with stringed instruments all the days of our lives in the house of the Lord. Psalms 150:6 “Let everything that hath breath and every breath of life praise the Lord.” I will praise You forever my Lord!

Know therefore that the Lord thy God, He is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations; and repayeth them that hate Him to their face, to destroy them: He will not be slack to him that hateth Him, and He will repay him to his face.

There's a tendency to measure a "great" church in terms of attendance, financial health, and the number of staff members, facilities, and programs. While these things are not necessarily bad, Jesus presents us with a new view-a new way of thinking about church. He says, "It's great that you are getting together. Now, what about those lonely souls out there who still don't have a group, who don't know Me? Go find them! They are the ones I'm most worried about. Can't you make room for one more. Such thinking reminds us that every single person matters to God. It also warns us about becoming complacent.

The last 11 days were the most amazing and wonderful days! They began with 4 days with my sister and brother in-law Jerry & Darla Shepard in Vero Beach Florida. We went to the beach, ate wonderful food, talked about God, had a great Sunday service and meal, and celebrated my birthday, all with my son and wife Dorinda! Then we went to Lakeland to spend a week with our very good friends Pastor Ron & Coleen Stewart in Lakeland Florida. We again had many great meals, had so many special moments, so many laughs, spent a lot of our time talking about God, had my first television interview with Arthelene Rippy of Homekeepers on CTN, and went to Lee College in Cleveland Tennessee to watch my son graduate with a bachelors degree in Church Leadership! I am so proud of you son for your accomplishments, your service to God, and the difference you are making in the kingdom! We had two very good and special church services this Sunday and were able to see the Mission Florida graduation ceremony for the first time. Thank you to all of those that made our vacation so special and especially to God who made it all possible. I love all of you!! Thank you Father God, Lord Jesus, and Holy Spirit!! I will love and serve you forever!!!

It is usually not difficult to love close friends and family members. And it's usually not tough to show a bit of compassion to desperate, pitiable people in crisis. But what about mean people or heartless enemies? What about loving the very people who have hurt and wronged you?
That's the unexpected power of the gospel of Christ. When Jesus invades our lives, he replaces (if we allow Him) our natural tendencies toward bitterness and revenge with the unnatural (supernatural) ability to treat others with mercy and grace. This is how Jesus lived. So when He lives within us, it is how we can and should live.

When we share out faith, we are in a win/win situation. If people accept what we say, we win. If we plant the seed of God's Word, we win; and even if we are rejected, we win. This is because the Bible says that when that happens, the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon us. When we contend for the faith and are rejected, we are to rejoice and leap for joy, for great is our reward in heaven (Luke 6:22,23). It is a winning situation every single time that you share your faith!
